PSCC Rallycross

We went out to Greig farm where the Poughkeepsie Sport Car Club was putting on a rallycross. We found out a little late and the roster was already full so we were unable to participate. This was the last one for the season but we’ll be there next spring for sure.

Halloween at the Mansion

We freshly remodeled the mansion and threw a Halloween party to celebrate. Costumes were required an a plethora of activities planed. We had a great time despite the buzz kill that came when someone stole one of our kegs. If you know kids like Jarrod Brinks, Andy Koo or that Drock guy know they are all scum bags and will steal your shit. We did get the keg back with some help from the our good friends at the Kingston Police department.

Fall Foliage Tour

Once again we took our annual Fall Foliage tour to another Oktoberfest celebration in the during the beautiful autumn season in the northeast. This year we made our way up to Harpoon Brewery in Windsor Vermont. The day was ripe with peak fall foliage of incredible autumn colors. We took the long way up and drove through various small towns and mountain passes as we made our way north. Our final destination at Harpoon’s Oktoberfest was a great choice. The beer was perfect and the activities were fun, including the cake eating contest!

A job well done deserves a few beers

In a class I took we had to put together a presentation to deliver to the class. After a lot of work we pulled it off much better than we anticipated. Afterwards we felt we deserved a few beers to celebrate the job well done. So off to Cuddy’s we went for fresh brews and wing night.

Deidres Birthday

So we walk into Mariner’s and it’s 80’s video night. I’m talking Micheal Jackson and Madonna on a big screen all night long. Pretty different, but pretty cool if you ask me. It was our friend Deidres’ Birthday so we had a few drinks, she had a lot of drinks and we all had a damn good time.

Waterfest 14

Once a year thousands of Volkswagen and Audi owners and enthusiasts make their way to Englishtown New Jersey for the largest water cooled VW/Audi meet this side of the Mississippi. They flood the surrounding hotels and turn unsuspecting parking lots into party spots. Back to back Chilli’s meets, lots of great cars and the classic 103 degree weather is what makes Waterfest what it is. (more…)

The Amreican LeMans Series @ Limrerock Park

Limerock park went through some major track renovations over the last month. The whole track is repaved, turn 6 at the uphill is totally different as well as a new turn at the end of the back straight. The new configuration made for some interesting racing especially coming into the uphill where late braking can gain you position but where coming into that turn without track position will put you into your neighbor or into the dirt. Watching the American LeMans Series here is a great way to spend the weekend. The competition is fierce and the pace is fast. Add to all that fun Formula BMW races, IMSA Lites, a nice BBQ and a few cold beers and you’ll be hard pressed to spend a better day breathing high octane fuel.

Kingston Fireworks

One of the great things about living in the Kingston area is the events that go on down on the waterfront. The Kingston Independence Day celebration is one of the best in the area hands down. This year we got out to the festivities a little late as a bunch of use went to a car show in PA during the day. Still we had plenty of time to watch the excellent fireworks display and consume massive amounts of beverages with lots of our friends.

Cult Classic 3

Out in PA, just as you’re about to get into Amish country, there’s a pretty cool VW show. We mustered up a small crew to make the long trip out to PA, and as long as it was, it was well worth it. There were a bunch of cars here that we haven’t seen at other area shows and most every car was worth looking at. There was a general feeling of pride in workmanship of all the people and cars at this show. They had a bunch of extras like a smash a kia with a sledgehammer game and giant q-tip jousting. The park it was held at was pretty nice too. Even the weather held out save for a few minutes of a passing summer shower. Definitely a good show to attend, especially if you’re nearby.

Sunday Drive to Eurothon

What was once Dubathon and held at Bear Mountain, has evolved. The organizing club has a new name, the show has a new location and a slightly expanded theme so Dubathon is now Eurothon. We made the short trip down to the SUNY Purchase campus to participate. There was a pretty good showing of Dubs and Audis as well as an impressive BMW turnout, particularly with a handful of pretty nice E30s. This show is pretty laid back and includes a BBQ. There could be really good things going on here in future years, we’ll keep coming back for sure.

Golf Pros

Its that time of year again, time to let the cool breeze of the Hudson River blow off the stresses of the week while standing of the deck the the Teal with a few drinks and a bunch of your friends dressed up for some crazy theme party. Yes you’ll never see as much argyle in one spot as you will at a Golf Pros & Tennis Ho’s party. After some Mansion pregaming we headed down to the Teal for some fun and then lazily made our way up to Bridgewater for our favorite drunken Irish duo Cray & Dempsey.

Koni Challenge

Its not that often you get the opportunity to take a parade lap around a race track like Limerock park. Thanks to Koni and Herbys53 we were able to do just that before the Koni Challenge here at Limerock Park.

40s in a bag on a green lawn with euro cars

This was the second time around for the annual Drty Euro car show and BBQ on the Stagger Inn grounds. Just as the weatehr is getting warmer we line up our cars, lite up the charcoal and crack open some 40s. The lawn up here is perfect for parking parking cars and having a barbecue. The theme is the flavor of malt liquor and we held to our roots strong with 4os of OE all around. The turnout was great with a plethora of euro cars and a touch of American muscle. This is one of the best times of the whole year and a great way to start the summer. (some more photos courtesy of Nick)

Primer by Yarrowsport

This is the second year running we’ve made our way out to Rhode Island for Yarrowsport’s Primer. This year was quite different from last year. The show is in a new location on an old airfield, a departure from the old industrial complex that houses Yarrowsport’s show where the show was held last year. Still the new location has some distinct advantages and an aesthetic appeal that sets it off from other show locations. This is one of the many things that makes Primer an entirely different type of show. There are very few awards given out at this show which makes your chance of getting one pretty slim and that might be the best part about it. Only cars with exceptional work get a trophy and you get to see the cars that win and meet the people behind them. Add to that a little fun with the ‘Dress Like Yarrow’ fashion award, which this year was brought home by our very own Will Briggs, aka Manbearpig and you have a great time. All of this makes for an exceptional show format that stresses quality not quantity and that is the very reason why Drty Euro will make the trip back next year.
